Downloading and installing Teams

If you are using a CCAD-issued faculty or staff computer, the Teams app has been pushed out to your computer. Once you connect to CCAD’s network while on campus, or connect to CCAD VPN while off campus, you should see the app in your Applications folder (Mac) or under All Programs (PC). Otherwise, follow the instructions below. |

Click on the waffle in the left-hand corner which will display Office 365 apps (these are your most used apps). Or click the Teams tile if it is already visible.

If Teams is not listed, click on “All Apps” at the bottom. The apps are listed in alphabetical order.
Downloading Teams
Teams can be used in a browser or downloaded to you device by selecting the download button:

Once you have finished running the installer, Teams should launch automatically.

Click Microsoft Teams to launch the web version of Teams. If it is not already visible on your Office 365 home screen, click All Apps.
Once in Teams, click the Download button at the bottom left to download the Teams desktop app.

On a Mac, follow the instructions on the installer to complete the installation of Teams
On Windows, you may not see anything happen for a couple minutes. Teams will launch automatically once the installation is complete.
On both platforms, after launching Teams you will see the login screen. Log in with your CCAD email.

Team Meetings
Teams will allow you to hold class sessions or team meetings in two ways: virtual and recorded.•
Virtual class sessions or meetings would be those held at the same time with all the members of class or staff team virtually.

Recorded format would allow students or staff team members to access the materials at their own leisure.
Video Call Meetings
You can use the video meeting call option to host virtual class session and meetings and record the session to share with others. These meetings are considered public which means that you can record them for posterity. IF you do decide to record your meeting make sure to ask students for permission or make a statement at the start of the recording indicating that it will be recorded.
