Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, you may be asked or want to work remotely. Here are answers to some commonly asked questions to help you prepare.

 

 


FAQ

How do I contact the Help Desk/Information Technology?

Help Desk and other Information Technology staff are available to provide assistance by calling 614.222.6174 or sending an email to helpdesk@ccad.edu. We can provide remote assistance with screen sharing using Microsoft Teams, or you can visit us in Kinney Hall room 220

Can I request equipment from IT?

Email helpdesk@ccad.edu to request checkout equipment, including a keyboard/mouse, monitor, Cintiq, laptop, webcam, specific adapters or cables that you might need. Please provide as many details as possible.

  • Requests are subject to approval, and we cannot guarantee equipment availability.

  • If you find that equipment is not functioning properly, please let us know right away so we can get it fixed while still under the item’s warranty.

Can I take my CCAD printer home?

No. We encourage the use of Adobe Acrobat, or Apple Preview to print virtual documents if necessary. Email helpdesk@ccad.edu if you like us to help setup print drivers on your CCAD computer for use with your home printer.

How do I forward my CCAD phone?

You can forward all calls using the WebEx softphone application.

Can I install VPN software on my personal computer?

No. Personal computers connecting via VPN presents too high of a risk of a cyberattack impacting our campus network.

What college applications can I install on my personal computer?

Microsoft Teams, and some office products (sign-in with your CCAD email and password to see what applications are available for download). Here’s a list of academic software available for download.

Can I install or will you install software on my college-owned laptop?

Contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@ccad.edu and your request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Is the Print Lab open?

The Digital Print Lab is open and located in Kinney Hall room 220. You can make sheet prints in person or order roll prints using our online order form. We will make the prints within two business days and have them ready for pay and pickup at the Ampersand Emporium during their open hours. Prints must be picked up in person.
